What you can calculate here
The page holds income tax for a fiscal year you select, a monthly payroll take-home, a reducing-balance loan instalment, a zakat estimate, and a financing sketch from a KIBOR rate you type plus a bank spread. Amounts are in PKR. Results are estimates for planning, not an FBR return and not a bank offer.
The income-tax tab uses progressive slabs. Tax for a bracket is a fixed amount plus a percentage of income above that bracket’s base. You choose salaried or non-salaried, and you choose whether the income you typed is monthly or annual. Monthly income is scaled up so the slab, which is an annual table, can be applied, and the tax is then shown per month as well.
Salaried slabs and non-salaried slabs
This calculator treats you as salaried when salary is more than 75 percent of taxable income, which is the split already built into the form. If your income is mostly business or another non-salary head, choose non-salaried. The two tables are different. Picking the wrong one changes the estimate even when the rupee income is the same.
For Tax Year 2027, the salaried withholding table and the withdrawal of the salaried surcharge are described in FBR’s rate card and in Circular No. 02 of 2026-27, dated 8 September 2026. The slab list printed under the form is the salaried snapshot for the default year. Other years, and the non-salaried rows, are the figures loaded in this calculator. Confirm those on the FBR website before you file. A surcharge, where the selected year still has one, is applied inside the tax result when income crosses the threshold stored for that year.
Salaried slabs loaded for FY 2026-27
Tax equals the slab’s fixed amount plus a percentage of income above that slab’s base. The lines below are the salaried snapshot for the default year on this page. Salaried rates for Tax Year 2027 follow the FBR withholding rate card and Circular No. 02 of 2026-27, dated 8 September 2026. Other years, and the non-salaried table, are the figures stored in this calculator — confirm them on the FBR website before you file.

EMI calculator Pakistan: reducing balance
The loan tab uses the standard reducing-balance formula. The annual mark-up percent you type is divided by 12 to get a monthly rate. The instalment is the payment that would bring the balance to zero over the number of months, charging that monthly rate on the balance that is still left. Early months are mostly mark-up. Later months are mostly principal. The schedule under the result shows that split. A mark-up of zero simply divides the principal by the number of months.
Worked example you can type: principal PKR 1,00,000, annual mark-up 12 percent, tenure 12 months. The monthly instalment is PKR 8,884.88. That 12 percent is an example input so you can check the arithmetic. It is not a bank rate and not KIBOR. Use the rate on your sanction letter.
Zakat calculator Pakistan and nisab
The zakat tab adds the assets you list (cash, gold value, silver value, investments, trade property and receivables), subtracts liabilities, and calls the result net wealth. The rate used here is 2.5 percent of that net wealth, and only when net wealth is at or above the nisab for the metal you select. If net wealth is below the nisab, zakat due is zero in this tool.
Nisab moves when gold and silver prices move. Check the current nisab with the State Bank of Pakistan or your zakat authority before you pay. The thresholds stored in this calculator are editable defaults, not an official notice, and this page does not present them as today’s nisab. Example of the 2.5 percent step only: if net wealth is PKR 2,00,000 and that amount is at or above the nisab you are using, zakat is PKR 5,000. If your real nisab is higher than 2,00,000, the zakat due on this wealth is zero. Do not treat 2,00,000 as a nisab figure. It is only the sample wealth.
KIBOR financing
Many PKR loans are quoted as KIBOR for a tenor plus a spread. This tab adds the two percents you type and then runs the same reducing-balance instalment as the EMI tab. It does not download today’s KIBOR. Copy the tenor from the State Bank of Pakistan, add the spread from the offer, and calculate again when the rate resets.
Limitations
This is not official advice and not a filing service. Rebates, tax credits, minimum tax, exempt allowances and withholding already deducted can change what you owe. Zakat depends on assets this form does not list. Confirm tax on the FBR rate card, nisab with the authority you follow, and KIBOR on the SBP site.

Frequently asked questions
Which tax years can I select?
The dropdown runs from FY 2023-24 through FY 2026-27 (Tax Year 2027). FY 2026-27 is the default. Salaried rates for Tax Year 2027 follow the FBR withholding rate card and Circular No. 02 of 2026-27. Confirm every year on FBR before you file.
When are salaried rates used instead of non-salaried rates?
Choose salaried when salary is more than 75 percent of taxable income. Choose non-salaried for business or other income that does not meet that test. The tables are not interchangeable.
How does the EMI stay on a reducing balance?
Each month’s mark-up is the monthly rate times the balance still unpaid. The rest of the instalment reduces principal. The schedule shows both parts. The example of PKR 1,00,000 at 12 percent for 12 months is PKR 8,884.88 a month, and that 12 percent is only a sample input.
How do I know if zakat applies?
Zakat here is 2.5 percent of net wealth when net wealth reaches the nisab you are using. Check the current nisab with the State Bank or your zakat authority. The tool’s built-in thresholds are defaults, not a current announcement.
Does the KIBOR tab use today’s rate?
No. Type the KIBOR tenor from the State Bank publication and the spread from your bank. The page adds them and calculates the instalment. It does not fetch KIBOR.
Is the surcharge the same for salary and business income?
Not in the years this calculator distinguishes. For FY 2026-27 the salaried surcharge under section 4AB is withdrawn, while the 10 percent surcharge on non-salaried income above Rs 10 million still applies in this tool. Earlier years keep the surcharge rate stored for that year. Read the circular before you rely on it.
