Formula
Each city has a fixed offset from UTC in this converter. Pakistan uses Asia/Karachi, which is UTC+5 and does not use daylight saving.
Dubai uses Asia/Dubai, UTC+4, also without daylight saving.
Karachi time − 1 hour = Dubai time, on the same calendar day when you are not crossing midnight.
Solved example (Karachi to Dubai)
A family call is set for 6:00 pm in Karachi.
Karachi is one hour ahead of Dubai.
6:00 pm Asia/Karachi = 5:00 pm Asia/Dubai.
The date does not change in this example. A call after midnight in one city can fall on the previous evening in the other.
Frequently asked questions
What is 6:00 pm Karachi time in Dubai?
5:00 pm. Pakistan is UTC+5 and Dubai is UTC+4, so Dubai is one hour behind Karachi.
Does Pakistan change clocks in summer?
No. Asia/Karachi stays on UTC+5. Do not add a daylight-saving hour for Pakistan.
Why can the date change when I convert a late-night time?
The gap between cities can push the clock past midnight. The converter then shows the next or previous calendar date in the other city.
Is UK time always five hours behind Pakistan?
Only while the UK is on GMT (UTC+0). In British Summer Time the UK is UTC+1, so the gap is four hours. This page uses the timezone database for the date you enter rather than a single fixed gap.
